Well the fourth of July is right around the corner and it's a very exciting time for everyone.
There will be a lot of people celebrating this traditional day. And there will probably be a lot of accidents too. So how can we keep everyone safe and lower all the risks? Well we can't help everyone, only the people who want to celebrate responsibly.
So we have to watch out for the people who refuse to celebrate with safety in mind. If your gonna be attending a fireworks celebration in your community it's probably best to leave a little early so you can beat the traffic. We all know that celebrations lead to drinking and driving. And you will want to be off the roads as much as possible.
And those of you who want to have your own celebration at home may want to be extra cautious when handling your own fireworks. More and more people every year have been getting preventable injuries from fireworks, and even in some cases death. And it is not a great idea for children to handle any type of fireworks. Children and fireworks just do not mix.
If you decide to do your own fireworks it's okay to include your children. But it's not a good idea to let them handle them. Even sprinklers are becoming very dangerous. A lot of injuries occurred last year with children getting burned just by sprinklers alone. And fire crackers are another dangerous firework out on the market. Fire crackers have also been related to a lot of serious injuries. So it's probably best to avoid those all together.
There are lots of ways to enjoy yourself this Fourth Of July season safely. Getting together with friends and family is what it's all about. Having a barbecue is a great suggestion for this season. This can be very fun and entertaining for everyone and also a safer way to celebrate. But if there is drinking involved please remember friends don't let friends drive home drunk.
And if your not up for a lot of action, you can always find something on television to watch. Look on your local listings to find a televised celebration on cable in your local area. So whatever you decide to do this Forth Of July season please make sure it's a safe and happy one.
